About Kenny

Recognized by DownBeat Magazine as "a distinctive player and composer," Kenny Reichert has established himself as a compelling guitarist with an expressive and refined approach to the instrument. Blending lyricism with harmonic sophistication, he crafts music that is both adventurous and accessible. His artistry has been praised by All About Jazz as "masterly without being showy," and Textura has lauded his compositions for making an "immediate impression" and "warranting repeat engagement."

Based between Chicago and Minneapolis, Reichert is an in-demand performer who has collaborated with artists such as Russ Johnson, Geof Bradfield, Lenard Simpson, Clark Sommers, Ethan Philion, John Christensen, Devin Drobka, Ana Everling, and Alyssa Allgood. He has performed at venues and festivals across the U.S. and Europe, bringing his music to audiences in intimate and large-scale settings.

As a recording artist, Reichert has released three albums. His latest, Switch (2024, Calligram Records), showcases diverse moods and textures over its nine tracks, while his previous albums, Deep Breath (2023, Shifting Paradigm Records) and Interpretations (2015), have cemented his reputation as a forward-thinking guitarist and composer.

Reichert is a member of Righteous Rooster, a Chicago-based organ trio featuring Henry Dickhoff on organ, Reichert on guitar, and Luke Sagadin on drums. Their debut album, Fowl Play (2024, Shifting Paradigm Records), captures the trio's deep chemistry and dynamic sound, blending "greasy funk rhythms, jazz-blues licks, and soulful interplay," as noted by Textura. Praised for its infectious energy, Fowl Play has been celebrated by UK Vibe, All About Jazz, JazzWax, and Chicago Jazz Magazine, with WDCB 90.9FM calling it "exactly the funk that you're looking for from an organ trio."

Reichert also collaborates with his wife, Sara d'Ippolito Reichert, in the jazz-folk duo Sara and Kenny. The duo has toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe, releasing several albums and singles. In addition to his own projects, he has contributed to numerous recordings, including Hours Fly, Flowers Die by Jimmy Farace, Live at Pro Musica by Ana Everling, Love Wins by Johannes Wallmann, and Overnight by Ian Ewing.

Beyond performance, Reichert is an active composer and producer in the sync and licensing world, contributing to a wide range of music libraries. His compositions have been featured in various advertisements and television programs internationally, including NFL GameDay Kickoff, NFL Fantasy Live, Temptation Island, Single's Inferno, Blood & Water, Farmer Wants a Wife USA, Hoy Día, MotorWeek, Ring Nation, Man Eats Wild, Hasta el Cielo: La Serie, Nineteen to Twenty, El Galán: La TV Cambió, Él No, The Single Wives, and Boyfriend.
